That was such a widespread shock, because many of us thought they might be getting married. The press made it sound like a big sex scandal. But think about it for a moment : relations can begin and be really good. Then, out of nowhere, take a turn for the worse. That is something many of us can relate to, but since it is someone else’s life, it is more shocking and entertaining to the general public.

It is simply man’s nature to show interest in other people’s’s private life, so long as it is not us, and it does not affect our lives. We are entertained by those public figures who are glorified on the television, but who are then embarrassed in public at times for the stupid acts they do.

Who doesn’t like a little bit of juicy gossip every now and again? Truthfully, both guys and girls read celebrity gossip columns - though men are much more likely to deny it than girls. After all , that is not actually a man thing, is it? Let’s be fair, there’s some truth to gossip when it comes to celebs, and many times the gossip is 100% true. Stars naturally don’t always like the gossip, but it is just part of being a celeb, and most understand this.

The Success of a Groundbreaking Television Series

The first episode of Sex And The City aired in 1998 and was viewed by almost 4 million people. By the final episode, taking place under the Eiffel Tower in Paris, this smash hit had over 10 million faithful fans a week.

There are a million tv shows, magazines and blogs about celebrities, celebrity gossip, celebrity news, whatever. So at this point I feel it’s important to have an angle; to have something slightly different to say which keeps the subject interesting. Which explains my reason for writing a semi-fan essay about Russell Wetanson, author of “Popsquire” blog and subject matter expert in pop culture law.

1 Russell is trained in law. He has provided representation for well known people like Madonna. As a television personality, he’s spoken with some people you might recognize - such as Beyonce, Kate Hudson, and Matthew McConaughey. All the education, direction and experience come together to make something new. You will find that his viewpoints on entertainment and celebrities will be quite different from the norm. His knowledge of law and specifically entertainment law adds something different; especially when you consider how many legal matters exist in the entertainment industry. This makes for endless, and definitely entertaining, blog fodder, articles and interviews. And as a side note, can you imagine thinking like a lawyer and also like someone in the entertainment industry? I can’t. These two fields are so diametrically opposed, it’s truly amazing to see how Russell synthesizes these two viewpoints into something workable and fun.

2 He focuses on the controversial, legal or potentially legal, hollywood news. Actually, I have no interest in their love lives or what people wear to various events. What DOES interest me is the darker and more controversial stuff. The battle between Miss California and Perez Hilton has been intriguing. Paris Hilton’s first hand account in court - CAPTIVATING And Michael Jackson? Well, let’s just say the fun NEVER ends with that one.

3 Lighten Up. magazines or blogs take a really serious approach to the legal goings on among celebrities. And that tends to affect people’s views of the individuals about whom they’re talking. It’s not that serious, though. It’s called the “Entertainment Industry” because it’s supposed to ENTERTAIN us. And Mister Wetanson remembers this. He is comical and entertaining wherever I see him. Yes it’s news. But it’s fun news. And it’s unserious. And that’s good. I’ll watch the news if I want something serious.

How’s this for a skill set: Law, fluent spanish, broadcast journalism-featured on NBC, Fox News, E, TV Guide network and HLN, MSN, NBC4, Current TV, Si TV and Yahoo Newsprint, print journalism, scuba diving, yoga, voiceover, commercial, blogging, pop culture trivia and white water rafting. How can you not love someone with that combination of skills? Not possible. Really, there is nothing else to it.
